Job summary

MercyOne Clinton Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the RN Float Pool on a 12-hour night shift. In this role you will deliver direct patient care, collaborate with physicians and the care team, and adhere to ANA standards to support MercyOne’s mission.

Requirements include an Associate degree in nursing, Iowa RN license or compact license, and BLS; ACLS if telemetry is available. BSN is preferred, with strong critical thinking and computer skills to support quality

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license or compact license recognized by IA.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• ACLS required only if unit has telemetry monitoring.
• Mandatory Reporter training within three months of hire.
• High language, strong math, and critical thinking abilities.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based, safe, patient-centered nursing care.
• Plan, assess, intervene, co-coordinate and deliver direct patient care.
• Communicate with physicians, ancillary staff, patients and families about the plan of care.
• Practice within applicable scope of nursing practice and ANA standards.
• Perform holistic nursing assessments across multiple domains.
