Guthrie Clinic is seeking a part-time Night Shift RN for the Emergency Department in Cortland, NY. The role involves delivering patient care through the nursing process, patient teaching, and coordinating with ancillary staff.

Responsibilities include admissions assessments, continuous monitoring, medication administration, and discharge planning, with required NYS RN license and BLS-CPR certification. Specialty certifications to be completed within set timelines; IC/ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Current NYS license to perform as a registered professional nurse
• Current BLS-CPR certification required (or within first 30 days of employment)
• Specialty Unit - Maternity – Neonatal Resuscitation Certification within 6 months of employment
• Specialty Unit –ICU- ACLS within 6 months of hire
• Entry level-graduate per Education requirements
• Specialty Units-At least 1 year of medical-surgical nursing preferred. (i.e. ICU, Maternity, Psych)

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients and delivers nursing care per the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Directs and guides patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel.
• Performs nursing admission assessment and documents timely and accurately per policy.
• Monitors patient vital signs and status; reports changes to charge nurse or physician as appropriate.
• Administers medications and maintains accurate documentation per policy, including IV administration and blood product procedures.
• Provides patient and family education and discharge planning support; participates in interdisciplinary care and PI/QI activities.
