Job summary

OrthoNebraska is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Extended Recovery on the night shift in Omaha. You will care for post-operative orthopedic patients, monitor pain, manage recovery, and coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and care teams to ensure safe discharges. The 36-hour weekly schedule features three 12-hour shifts from 6:45 p.m.

to 7:15 a.m., with built-in weekends and holidays. The role requires strong assessment skills, aseptic technique, and a commitment to patient safety

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments to determine nursing care needs.
• Develops and revises individualized plan of care for optimal outcomes.
• Implements interventions safely per established plan of care.
• Evaluates patient responses to care and interventions.
• Maintains professional behavior and supports department goals.
• Ensures safety and regulatory compliance (OSHA, Joint Commission).
• Participates in performance improvement activities and department meetings.
