Job summary

CFG Health Systems, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care for inmate patients in a correctional healthcare setting in New Jersey. The role involves completing assessments, administering medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality care.

You will work night shifts (7 pm–7:30 am) with rotating weekends and a $4.00 shift differential, requiring flexibility for weekends and holidays. Strong clinical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of employment.
• Correctional healthcare experience preferred.
• Excellent critical thinking and clinical assessment skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Assertive, empathetic, and able to provide objective patient care.
• Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to function independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Maintain security clearance and commit to facility mission.
• Occasional night, weekend, and holiday shifts; on-call may be required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized nursing care to inmate patients according to nursing protocols.
• Perform assessments in intake, health care units, emergency situations, chronic care clinics, and medical units.
• Collaborate with primary care providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely, appropriate, and continuous care.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions as prescribed.
• Monitor and report reactions to treatments, medications, and changes in status.
• Provide patient education, including medication guidance, self-care, and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient documentation in appropriate formats.
• Promote a therapeutic and professional environment for inmates and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
