River North Correctional Center in Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse (Night Shift) to provide comprehensive nursing care within a correctional setting. The role emphasizes assessment, care planning, and evaluation of patient needs, with 24/7 nursing coverage and telemedicine support.

Qualifications

• Valid unrestricted Virginia RN license; if a VA nursing graduate not yet licensed, NCLEX scheduling at application.
• Current BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within adult institutions using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementing, evaluation).
• Deliver 24-hour nursing care, telemedicine, chronic care clinics, triage, med administration, and patient education.
• Document in health records, maintain confidentiality, and interface with other departments as needed.
• Delegate tasks and adapt hours/locations to meet institutional needs.
• Be available to provide coverage to meet clinical and admin needs.
