Job summary

SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - Madison in Wisconsin is seeking a Regular Nurse to provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and protocols.

You will work night shift on the 5SW Medical Intermediate department, delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to patients and families. The role emphasizes patient advocacy, collaboration with an inter-disciplinary team, and applying the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while maintaining safety

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Uses standards of medical-surgical nursing practice to increase the quality of care and quality of life for the patient and family.
• Establishes effective relationships and serves as an advocate with the patient and family to facilitate the care plan.
• Uses the nursing process to develop and implement the plan of care, collect assessment data, identify outcomes, and evaluate patient progress.
• Develops assessment and management strategies based on holistic considerations of patient health.
• Demonstrates knowledge of patient illness impacts across physical, cultural, social, economic, developmental, spiritual, and vocational aspects.
• Coordinates with patient, family, communities, and inter-professional team to plan and evaluate care.
• Communicates effectively with patients and healthcare providers to ensure culturally sensitive, ethical, legal, holistic, and humane care.
• Educates patients and families about measures to promote health, comfort, and well-being.
• Mentors and models professional nursing practice to colleagues and students.
• Applies evidence-based practice to deliver age-appropriate, high-quality nursing care.
