Job summary

Boys Town, based in Omaha, seeks an RN Bed Planner to optimize bed utilization across Med-Surg, PICU, and Surgery Support. The role includes cross-training in pre-admissions and registration to streamline transitions and ensure efficient patient flow in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The RN must be a licensed nurse with at least five years in a hospital setting, CPR/ACLS/PALS within six months, and ready to work a 7:00 PM–5:30 AM schedule. A $5,000 hiring bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• RN with current state license.
• BSN required.
• Minimum 5 years of hospital experience.
• CPR, ACLS and PALS within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate bed assignments to optimize patient flow.
• Monitor bed availability and coordinate with units for admissions and transfers.
• Prepare daily schedules for Surgery Center staff and nursing assignments.
• Collaborate with environmental services to prioritize bed/room cleaning.
• Utilize bed planner in EMR to keep patient location accurate.
• Maintain Joint Commission readiness and standards.
