Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for Bed Management - 36 - Midnights to coordinate patient flow across facilities and optimize throughput within the System Capacity Command Center (SC3). The role requires a BSN, 3 years of clinical or capacity management experience, and on-site work with training at Southfield and Novi locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Three (3) years of clinical experience, or direct capacity management experience (systems that support patient flow, transfer, clinical expediting, and admission processes)
• Experience facilitating patient placement, transfer, or clinical expediting preferred. Experience with systems that support patient flow, admission, transfer, care progression and discharge processes preferred
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and produce detailed and accurate work.
• Excellent clinical knowledge and assessment skills to evaluate and prioritize patient placement.
• Ability to assess and handle highly sensitive and confidential matters with considerable discretion and independent judgement
• Demonstrated positive work ethic and strong sense of teamwork/problem solving with co-workers
• Understanding of Henry Ford Health policies and procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and optimize patient flow across acute adult and pediatric facilities to promote quality, service excellence, patient- and family-centered care, and maximize throughput.
• Serve as liaison and work with a multi-disciplinary team and various internal/external resources to meet patient flow objectives and resolve issues.
