Responsibilities

• Provide direct psychiatric nursing care using the nursing process.
• Initiate biopsychosocial assessment of patients’ acute needs and document in medical records.
• Ensure nursing assessment within 8 hours of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to the care team.
• Develop and update the patient care plan with measurable goals.
• Lead milieu management and ensure patient safety per hospital procedures.
• Administer and document medications per protocol.
• Maintain documentation and participate in quality assurance activities.
