Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Westchester Behavioral Health Center is seeking a Staff Nurse (RN) for the Addiction Recovery Unit (8 North) on the night shift. You will provide patient-centered care for individuals in psychiatric crisis, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and support recovery in a high-quality, safe environment.

The role requires at least 1 year of inpatient psychiatric nursing experience, a NYS RN license, BCLS, and a Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of inpatient psychiatric nursing experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Current New York State RN license.
• BCLS certification.
• Complete Nurse Residency Program if new Graduate.
• Knowledge of nursing process, customer service principles and effective interpersonal communication.
• Knowledge of use of computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered care to individuals in behavioral health crises.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess patient needs and promote recovery.
• Support patients and families while ensuring safety and quality standards.
• Document and monitor patient progress, and participate in care planning.
• Possess strong critical thinking skills and commitment to evidence-based practice.
