Job summary

Richmond Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Staten Island, NY, seeks a compassionate Respiratory Therapist for the night shift. You will assess residents, perform diagnostics, interpret results, manage airways, and collaborate with the care team to tailor treatments.

Ideal candidates have graduated from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program with current licensure, and prior LTC/post-acute experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Current, valid Respiratory Therapist license/credentials.
• Experience in long-term/post-acute care preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent communication and organization.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor residents with respiratory conditions.
• Perform diagnostic testing and evaluate lung function.
• Interpret results and communicate findings to the care team.
• Provide airway management, including secretion removal and clearing obstructions.
• Educate residents on respiratory health, treatments, and prevention.
• Instruct residents on proper use of respiratory equipment and therapies.
• Respond to respiratory emergencies, including resuscitation support.
• Collaborate with physicians on individualized treatment plans.
• Follow infection control, safety, and clinical care protocols.
• Provide care with respect for residents’ dignity and beliefs.
