Job summary

Mental Health Connecticut, Inc. is seeking a Residential Specialist I for our Transitional/Respite program in the Torrington area. This full-time role supports individuals in recovery, coordinating services and documenting activities according to Individual Recovery Plans.

Shifts run Sunday–Thursday or Friday–Monday from 12:00 am to 8:00 am. The position offers a competitive benefits package including medical and dental, vision, life insurance, EAP, a 403(b) plan, and generous paid time off.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma required.
• Experience in community mental health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engage with persons in recovery to assure participation in programs and activities.
• Document all activities, communications, and encounters with individuals in recovery according to service requirements.
• Orient individuals to the program available to them.
• Maintain specific activity and progress reports.
• Teach and assist Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
• Monitor the safety of individuals in recovery in their residences through supervision of the sites.
• Provide emergent program site coverage when necessary and stay on site or report beyond scheduled hours to provide essential coverage.
