Position: Registered Nurse - Advanced Skills / ICU RN

Summary: Provides quality care to critically ill patients, utilizing assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Acts as a patient advocate, supervises nursing care, develops care plans, applies critical thinking, ensures patient education, and participates in discharge planning.

• Maintain nursing standards and hospital policies
• Assess patients upon admission and refer to other disciplines as needed
• Develop and update nursing care plans in coordination with patients and families
• Manage restraints and ensure proper patient positioning
• Document assessments, care plans, and pertinent information thoroughly
• Use biomedical equipment correctly
• Deliver safe and effective patient care, complete assignments timely, and demonstrate teamwork
• Obtain consents and ensure informed decisions
• Receive and transcribe physician orders accurately
• Recognize and respond to patient condition changes and emergencies
• Administer medications knowledgeably and accurately
• Recognize arrhythmias and institute protocols
• Supervise and evaluate nursing care
• Assist with procedures and tests, and participate in supply management
• Participate in orientation and performance evaluations
• Assist or provide direct patient care as needed
• Coordinate care with other departments and respond to adverse developments

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited RN program
• Current state RN licensure
• BCLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum one year of critical care experience
