Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is hiring a Receiving Clerk in Rocky Hill, CT. You will complete receiving processes, verify documents, and manage data entry for received product while coordinating with inbound drivers. This role supports accurate records and efficient warehouse operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Receiving or warehouse experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred.
• Ability to use email, word processing, spreadsheets and other applications.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with inbound drivers.
• Verify documentation for product received, Bills of Lading, and receiving documentation.
• Notify Supervisor of major discrepancies, before product is received.
• Post receive purchase orders.
• Prepare the Receiving Exception Report daily.
• Coordinate with receiver and unloader on priority of Dock Door assignments and driver contact.
• Assist with collection of freight handling fees, late delivery fees, check approvals for these amounts and issue receipts.
• Compile end of shift receiving/inventory debrief.
• Check APT to ensure team members time and performance are accurate.
• Properly document outbound trailers in shipping log.
• Promptly report damage and all inventory discrepancies.
• Maintain all food safety, housekeeping, and other applicable standards.
• Cross-train to cover Shipping Clerk functions as needed.
