Job summary

Schaefer Plastics North America, LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Inspector for our Charlotte facility. You will inspect materials, in-process parts, and finished products, applying blueprints and specs to ensure dimensional accuracy and product quality. The shift runs 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., seven days a week, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; quality certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of quality inspection or quality control experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, measurements, and technical documents.
• Experience using standard inspection and measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and math/measurement ability.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, and ability to learn digital quality systems.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and roll up to 500 pounds.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards is a plus.
• Flexibility to support varying shifts and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to verify specifications.
• Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to confirm dimensional accuracy.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions accurately.
• Identify, label, and properly control non-conforming material in designated Quality Hold areas.
• Record inspection results and test findings clearly, accurately, and completely.
• Partner with production, warehouse, shipping, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and reduce scrap or rework.
• Support continuous improvement efforts and contribute to quality-focused decision-making on the production floor.
• Provide additional shift coverage as needed, with advance notice and supervisor approval.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Quality Management.
