Job Title: Extrusion Quality Technician (Night Shift)

5:45PM – 6:00AM Rotating 2-2-3 Schedule

Job Description

The Quality Technician is responsible for completing projects/tasks assigned by the Quality Manager; the Quality Technician will also assist in guiding/reporting Production personnel with daily/weekly/monthly workflow and other tasks directed by the Quality Manager – these tasks are critical in the Quality Control Plan.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in, assist in, or help develop methods for testing and evaluation of processes.
  • Perform all required testing and report deviations as needed to appropriate parties for corrective actions and continuous improvement.
  • Compare results of inspections and tests to the company’s quality standards, report results to Quality Manager for final analysis and action steps.
  • Help report and maintain daily/weekly/monthly tasks within the Quality Department and Extrusion department – these tasks are critical to the Quality Control Plan.
  • Evaluate data and place it into documents/spreadsheets in a logical fashion.
  • Test, inspect and approve raw materials based on established quality specifications.
  • Perform auditing on incoming/receiving material, process/production, and outgoing parts.
  • Perform assigned routine visual inspections, and other specified tests on raw materials, goods in process, and finished products.
  • Use statistical methods to test product samples to evaluate the quality of the full production batch before delivery to clients or customers.
  • Report daily quality data/metrics/KPI’s as needed.
  • Aid in disposition of non-conforming material alongside Extrusion manager/Quality manager.
  • Consult with Quality Manager to determine appropriate recommendations and remedies for questionable products.
  • Test limits on machines and products to determine failure points.
  • Investigate, communicate, and aid in resolving customer complaints.
  • Maintain accurate records in the quality database.
  • Maintain gauge calibrations, and associated records.
  • Perform testing on product samples, and report data out in a logical fashion.
  • Perform work-related audits accordingly.
  • Coach and help train team members on quality related issues as they arise.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned subject to reasonable accommodations.
