Job summary

Whirlwind Steel Buildings & Components in Houston, TX is seeking a Quality Control Team Leader to oversee night shift QA operations and ensure products meet quality standards and customer expectations. You will provide direction, training, and support to the QC team while promoting safety and continuous improvement.

You will coordinate inspections of welds and fabricated parts, mentor welders and fitters, support welding procedures, and work with production leadership to maintain on-time

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing.
• Minimum 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
• Experience performing visual inspections of welds and fabricated products.
• Working knowledge of industry standards and tolerances (AISC).
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to train and develop team members for continuous improvement.
• Able to work the night shift as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Quality Control operations during the night shift.
• Schedule and coordinate the work of QC Inspectors to support production.
• Perform visual inspections of incoming materials, welds, and finished products.
• Promote safety culture and implement corrective actions.
• Train, coach, and mentor QC team members.
• Qualify and train welders and fitters per quality requirements.
• Support welding procedures and non-destructive testing activities.
• Collaborate with internal departments and customers to resolve quality concerns.
• Identify and resolve quality issues to meet production goals.
