Job summary

Whirlwind Steel Buildings and Components is seeking a Quality Technician to inspect materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet established standards. You will work closely with production teams to identify quality concerns, document findings and maintain product quality throughout manufacturing.

The role involves visual and dimensional inspections, use of measurement tools, UT when required, and collaboration to drive corrective actions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in quality control, inspection, manufacturing, or a related field.
• Experience with ultrasonic testing (UT) preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret structural steel drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Experience using inspection and measurement tools such as tape measures, squares, calipers, and micrometers.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing quality processes and inspection practices.
• Ability to document inspection results accurately.
• Ability to work effectively with production personnel and other departments.
• Ability to work the assigned night shift and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect raw materials, components, work-in-process, and finished products according to specifications.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections to verify quality.
• Use measuring and inspection equipment to verify dimensions.
• Perform UT and other inspection methods as required.
• Identify and document quality concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Review drawings and specs to verify requirements.
• Collaborate with production to identify root causes and support corrective actions.
• Complete inspection reports and quality records accurately.
• Support internal quality reviews and process improvements.
• Monitor recurring quality issues and communicate trends.
