Job summary

Orca Bio is seeking a Scientist, Quality Control - Night Shift in Sacramento to perform routine QC testing on cell therapy products and related materials. You will document results, support SOPs, and calibrate equipment to ensure data integrity.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a life science and 2–4 years of QC/biologics GMP experience, with hands-on flow cytometry and aseptic techniques. Night hours and collaboration with cross-functional teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline is required.
• 2–4 years of quality control testing, analytical development, or biologics GMP experience preferred; associate level for less experience.
• Strong understanding of analytical techniques, lab equipment, and QC principles.
• Some experience in aseptic technique, flow cytometry, or cell-based assays.
• Experience in QC or GMP within cell therapy or biopharma manufacturing is preferred.
• Ability to meet project and testing timelines; detail-oriented with data integrity.
• Ability to work independently and with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine QC testing on raw materials, intermediates, and final cell therapy products per SOPs.
• Conduct a broad range of tests including flow cytometry and cell-based assays.
• Record and document all QC activities in compliance with cGMP policies.
• Assist in batch records, SOPs, and related documentation reviews.
• Maintain lab equipment and qualification activities; prepare reagents.
• Order and maintain lab supply inventory; aliquot samples aseptically.
• Support assay transfer and validation; troubleshoot technical issues.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, R&D, and QA to ensure product quality.
