Job summary

The position emphasizes crime prevention, de-escalation, and acting as the first responder to incidents within the facility. Required are a HS diploma or GED, 4 years security/public safety experience with 2 years involving firearms, and multiple certifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 4 years general security/public safety experience; 2 years in related job with firearm duties.
• Pre-employment psychological screening required.
• Valid in-state Driver License; in-house safety program adherence.
• IAHSS Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor within 1 year; firearms, taser, baton certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Frontline supervision of all assigned security functions and Public Safety staff.
• Coordinates routine and emergency security activities as assigned by policy or management.
• Enforces Piedmont Healthcare regulations and applicable laws.
• Advocates crime prevention and a secure work environment through observation and intervention.
• Safe de-escalation of critical events with sound judgment for combative subjects.
• First responder to all emergency incidents within the facility.
• Supervise and develop junior officers.
