Job summary

Central Steel & Wire, part of the Ryerson Family, is hiring for a 3rd Shift Production Support in Portage, IN. Schedule Monday - Friday 11:00pm-7:00am.

You will receive, inspect, and stock inbound materials for production; assemble orders and package to spec; perform data entry for fulfilled orders; load trucks; complete bills of lading; operate forklifts, cranes, and rail movers; maintain housekeeping; and support ongoing operations.

Qualifications

• 3 years or more experience in warehouse setting preferred.
• Able to read a tape measure down to a 1/16th of an inch.
• Steel industry background preferred.
• Overhead crane experience preferred.
• Experience loading & unloading steel products preferred.
• Experience with mobile equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives, inspects and stocks inbound raw materials for production
• Assembles customer orders and packages to specifications as required
• Performs data entry for processed fulfilled orders
• Loads completed order products onto trucks for delivery
• Completes bill of ladings for outbound shipments
• Operates Forklifts, Electric Overhead Cranes and Warehouse Tractor
• Operates Rail Car Mover and moves and unloads rail cars
• Assembles, pallets, and skids per order requirements
• Maintains housekeeping in the work area
