Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Night Shift Team Lead to coordinate production activities in a safe, efficient, and cost-conscious way. You will supervise hourly workers, prioritize tasks, and ensure customer requirements are met while maintaining quality and safety standards.

You will manage schedules, approve overtime, stop production when issues arise, mentor staff, and contribute to cost reduction efforts. The role requires a High School diploma or GED, 3 years of supervisory experience, and

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Some post-secondary education preferred (technical or vocational education) in Business Mgt, or Mfg
• 3 years of Team Lead or Supervisory experience in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Directs the manufacturing and material handling activities on a given shift.
• Trains and supervises hourly employees in these activities; administers plant rules and procedures; recommends employees and candidates for hire, promotion, demotion, transfer, disciplinary action and/or termination.
• Effectively manages the work schedule within the department to prevent idle time, and provide for the optimal use of manpower, machinery and material.
• Maintains standards of quality to meet customer and internal specifications. Strives for continuous improvement in quality performance through proper training, good communication, effective leadership/supervision, and follow-up with all members of the shift.
• Has authority to stop machines/production to communicate machine problems and breakdowns to Site Manager.
• Inspects product for quality defects. Has authority to stop production due to product safety and quality issues, place product on hold, and communicate non-conformances to Site Manager and/or QA Supervisor.
• Maintains safe working conditions throughout the plant by coaching, training and taking corrective action on unsafe conditions or acts.
• Effectively handles employee complaints, suggestions, questions, and conflicts in a respectful and professional manner, and in accordance with the guidelines established in the Employee Handbook and other Company policy/procedure.
• Responsible for reporting production information at the end of the shift.
• Assists in the review of labor and manufacturing costs as they relate to production. Analyzes, pursues and recommends methods for reducing these costs.
• Coordinates the implementation of any approved material or method changes. Responsible for communicating these changes to production personnel and follows-up to insure understanding and proper implementation.
• Keeps current on technical developments and changes in order to appraise or make recommendations to management and supervisors and to instruct and train employees.
• Performs other duties as requested by the Site Manager.
• Oversees team of direct reports and is responsible for development, mentoring, and performance management. Responsible for overall talent management and employee engagement; cultivates an environment of safety, high performance, and ethical and legal compliance; addresses employee relations issues
• Leads by example, which includes filling in where needed on the production floor, helps cover vacant shifts, set the example of good teamwork and work ethic, including good attendance.
