Job summary

Unilever in Independence, MO is seeking a Night Shift Production Supervisor to drive safety, productivity and quality across a night shift, using the TPM framework. You will oversee the shift crew, coordinate with maintenance, QA and planning, and ensure adherence to GMP, safety and 5S standards.

The role requires a high school diploma and 3+ years of leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, across multiple shifts.

  • Coordinate off-shift productivity and issue resolution.
  • Interfacing with Facilities, Planning, Quality, Warehouse and other supervisors to meet plant goals.
  • Maintain Kronos timekeeping and accurate hours, overtime, vacation and absences.

Night Shift Production Supervisor

Location: Independence, MO

JOB PURPOSE

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for driving current and future manufacturing performance in the areas of Safety, Productivity, Cost, Quality, Delivery and Morale using TPM operating framework. This includes managing the shift crew and manufacturing activities as well as working individually and on teams to identify areas of opportunity to cause beneficial change.This position requires flexibility as your schedule will vary (with notice) due to vacation coverage for other supervisors and other business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Managing manufacturing activities during the designated shift by leading and motivating shift employees in all areas including safety, efficiency, loss management, quality, and continuous improvement (TPM).
  • Meeting legislative requirements, providing instruction in regard to safety procedures and supporting plant SHEQ initiatives as required (DuPont Program, GMP, Hygiene, 5S,etc.).
  • Accountable for the productivity of the site during off-shifts. This requires contacting appropriate resources for issue resolution, providing alternative duties in the event of breakdown or material shortage.
  • Monitoring general performance and behavior of employees and adjusting crewing or call in replacements as necessary. This requires interfacing with Facilities Support, Material Planning, Quality Support, Warehouse and other department supervisors to ensure efficient operation to meet plant goals.
  • Utilizing Kronos Timekeeping System to maintain weekly record of hours worked, along with explanation of overtime hours worked and ensures hours worked, vacation, personal hours, absences, etc. are correctly documented so employees are paid accurately.
  • Participating in the development of the annual site manufacturing budget and controlling fixed and variable cost expenditures.
  • Promoting and maintaining a safety-oriented culture.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • You’re a storyteller:Regularly cascading/communicating site targets and goals from the Leadership Team to shift crews, consistently and accurately.
  • You’re a teacher: Facilitating required training programs to employees. (SHE, TPM, QA, etc.)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma required
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team in a food/CPG/FMCG, pharmaceutical or automotive manufacturing environment
  • Experience operating across multiple shifts (nights, weekends, etc.)
  • Demonstrated hands-on leadership in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment
  • Working knowledge of GMP, food safety, and quality standards
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • B.A./B.S. degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
  • Continuous Improvement experience (WCM/TPM/Lean)
  • Experience driving team performance and improvement initiatives on the floor
  • Exposure to cross-functional collaboration with Operations, QA, and Planning

Pay: The pay range for this position is $71,400 to $107,200. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus : This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
