Job summary

MilliporeSigma in Wisconsin seeks a Production Technician to set up and run chemical manufacturing equipment, ensuring end-to-end quality and thorough data documentation.

You will recheck results, mentor staff, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, with a 12-hour night shift (6:00 PM–6:30 AM) and a 2/2/3 rotation. Bachelor’s degree and 1+ year lab experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or life science.
• 1+ year of lab experience in chemical production.
• Experience with ISO and quality systems.
• Experience reading and understanding written protocols.
• Strong problem solving and equipment troubleshooting skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with chemistry and math.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Independently and accurately sets up equipment to manufacture chemical compounds and conducts analytical testing.
• Ensures end-to-end quality, documents data per guidelines.
• Rechecks analytical results and escalates issues as needed.
• Leads department during supervisor absence and balances production vs. improvement tasks.
• Assists with workforce scheduling and shift handoffs.
• Mentors and trains new hires and maintains calibration logs.
• Participates in safety, quality, inventory, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Reviews protocols and supports management with improvements.
