Job summary

Avient is hiring a Production Operator in Phoenix, AZ. You will set up and operate equipment to blend, mix, or transport chemicals used in customer products, ensuring quality and cost efficiency.

Duties include weighing ingredients, monitoring machinery, taking samples, and maintaining logs. The role requires safety compliance, ability to read operating instructions, and a willingness to work the 10:00pm–6:30am shift with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent training & experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals.
• Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide; work with different units.

Responsibilities

• Sets up, starts and runs all machinery.
• Weighs ingredients to meet recipe spec and inserts into machinery.
• Monitors production and equipment for safe, efficient operation.
• Operates machinery to mix, extrude or handle materials.
• Takes samples to lab for evaluation and adjustments if needed.
• Performs machine cleaning and documents work via logs and reports.
