Job summary

Texas Health Fort Worth is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist PRN to support the Respiratory Care Department on a variable shifts basis. The role involves evaluating patients, administering therapies, and ensuring safety in alignment with hospital protocols.

Ideal candidates will have an AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program, CLIA equivalency familiarity, and 1 year of Med/Surg or critical care experience. This position requires BCLS and RCP/RRT licensure at hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program is required.
• CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency must be complied with.
• 1 year of Med/Surg or critical care experience is preferred.
• Previous experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and verifies physician orders for therapy and validates appropriateness.
• Evaluates each patient using age- and diagnosis-appropriate assessment tests and measurements.
• Performs treatment procedures within the scope of the professional license.
• Educates patient and family about treatment plan, safety issues, and home programs/self-management.
• Maintains bedside and ventilator alarms in audible position and ensures patient safety.
• Communicates with physicians and other healthcare personnel regarding patient care issues.
