Summary: Nurses are responsible for implementing nursing services in medical detoxification and residential settings.

Job Responsibilities (non-exclusive):

  • Perform intake assessments on all clients
  • Obtain vital signs and ongoing assessments
  • Complete accurate medical record documentation
  • Administer medication following the 8 rights of medication administration
  • Use clinical judgment to manage patient care safely and effectively
  • Communicate patient progress and needs effectively
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans
  • Participate in on-call rotations
  • Engage in multidisciplinary treatment teams
  • Provide in-service education as requested
  • Work collaboratively with medical and psychiatric providers and carry out physician's orders
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, laws, OSHA standards, and Joint Commission regulations
  • Work at least one holiday shift per year; subject to change
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • BSN or ASN from an accredited school
  • Active RN or LPN license in good standing
  • Preferred: 1-year experience in hospital or mental health setting
  • Certified BLS provider, or able to obtain within 1 month of hire
  • Maintain client confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • Teamwork skills

  • Computer literacy, experience with EMR (Kipu)
  • Knowledge of behavioral medicine practices

  • Competencies include glucometer, UDS, pregnancy tests, breathalyzer, vital signs, medication administration

Employee Schedule: As a PRN nurse, employment is based on a 40-hour workweek with minimum two 12-hour shifts per month, including participation in on-call rotation. On-call generally involves one 3-day weekend or three 24-hour shifts approximately every other month, with possible changes. The nurse must be available by phone and able to arrive within 45 minutes for emergencies.
