Job summary

Waste Management is seeking a Plant Associate to unload waste from incoming vehicles, decontaminate cargo areas and stage material for scanning in a safe, productive manner.

The position emphasizes strict safety, teamwork and reliable communication. The role runs 6 PM to 6 AM, Sunday-Wednesday or Sunday-Tuesday, with weekly rotation and a pay rate of $20.50 per hour plus $0.50 night differential, paid weekly.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience, preferably in plant environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow health and safety directives, standards and procedures that apply to the role and location.

Responsibilities

• Unload waste from incoming vehicles. Separate non-autoclavable waste to be incinerated.
• Stage waste on conveyor system or stack waste for scanning in the Biotrack system.
• Scan waste into the Biotrack system for recordkeeping.
• Load autoclave bins or incinerator hopper with waste for processing.
• Place reusable containers on tub wash line for decontamination.
• Operate tub wash unit, remove clean tubs and inspect for reuse.
• Operate tub wash sprayer for oversized tubs and inspect for reuse.
• Decontaminate vehicle cargo area and ensure no free liquid remains; inform supervisor when ready to move.
• Ensure housekeeping issues are addressed immediately (spills, dry floor, debris).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
