Job summary

NESC Staffing LLC in Houston is seeking an experienced Pipe Welder for night shift to support fabrication operations and piping systems. You will read P&ID drawings, set up welding equipment, and weld carbon steel, stainless steel and chrome using GTAW, GMAW or FCAW per procedure.

You must pass a 6G pipe test and read engineering drawings, working under supervision with safety first and quality in mind.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or 1 year technical diploma/vocational certificate desired.
• Minimum of 2–4 years' of relevant industrial experience required.
• Must have experience welding multiple types of pipe including, but not limited to: carbon steel, stainless steel and chrome.
• Must be qualified on GTAW, GMAW and FCAW processes on 2" and above pipe in all positions.
• Must pass 6G pipe test.
• Must be able to read and interpret all engineering drawings in order to efficiently perform work.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Works under general supervision.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret P&ID drawings to determine welding processes.
• Set up equipment and parts for welding.
• Weld piping systems using GTAW, GMAW, FCAW as required.
• Inspect completed welds for structural soundness.
• Bolts, clamps and tack-welds parts to secure for welding.
• Follow safety and project rules.
