Job summary

Englewood Health is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to join our inpatient Surgical Services team for night coverage. The role involves rounding, bedside procedures, OR assistance, and cross-coverage across surgical specialties.

The position is part-time, 7 PM–7 AM, with a comprehensive benefits package and strong teamwork within a high-volume hospital environment in Bergen County, NJ.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant program with a Bachelor’s degree.
• Current NJ Physician Assistant License.
• Current NCCPA Certification.
• DEA and NJ CDS registration.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Minimum 2-3 years of PA inpatient surgical experience preferred.
• Must maintain board certification and CME requirement.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient rounding and write orders for new, follow-up, and post-operative patients.
• Conduct overnight rounds to monitor status and patient safety.
• Assist in the operating room and provide cross-coverage across surgical specialties during night hours.
• Order diagnostic studies and interpret labs and imaging.
• Perform bedside procedures under surgeon direction, including wound care and drains.
• Collaborate with intensivists, surgeons, residents, and APNs for optimal patient care.
