Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and capillary collection per policies to ensure accurate specimen collection.
• Ensures positive patient identification and bedside labeling to prevent errors.
• Prepares, packages, and transports specimens to the laboratory while maintaining sample integrity.
• Documents patient and specimen information accurately in the laboratory system.
• Cleans, sterilizes, and maintains phlebotomy equipment and workspace per safety standards.
• Collects timed specimens as ordered and communicates specimen status with the team.
