Job summary

Bon Secours seeks an Overnight Staff Pharmacist at Southside Medical Center in Petersburg, VA. The role covers 7on/7off shifts from 8–10pm, with weekends/holidays rotating as needed. The position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus and requires ACPE-accredited pharmacy education and active license.

Responsibilities include medication management, ensuring safe prep, supervising staff, improving patient education, and collaborating with the care team to optimize therapy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS or PharmD (required).
• 2 years of recent experience in an acute care setting (required).
• Immunization certification (preferred).
• Current pharmacist license in state(s) of practice (required).

Responsibilities

• Process orders and review medications for safety and efficacy.
• Ensure accurate preparation of compounded and non-compounded products.
• Oversee pharmacy distributive functions for timely medication availability.
• Supervise pharmacists, technicians and support staff as needed.
• Maintain inventory security and accountability.
• Identify and document adverse medication events.
• Provide patient education to improve adherence.
• Communicate with healthcare teams, providers and patients.
• Support medication safety, QA and DRU activities.
