Job summary

Prime Healthcare Saint Mary's Hospital in Kankakee, IL is seeking a Per Diem Patient Care Assistant for night shifts (7p-7:30a, minimum 4 shifts/month). You will support patients with daily living activities and basic nursing care under RN supervision, promoting a safe environment.

Qualifications include preferred phlebotomy and EKG certifications, BLS within 30 days, and knowledge of medical terminology, with at least six months acute care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• CNA, State approved Certification required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
