Job summary

AdventHealth in Port Charlotte, Florida, is seeking an experienced RN for full-time night shifts. The role emphasizes comprehensive patient assessments, development of individualized care plans, medication administration, and patient education.

Collaboration with medical staff and diligent documentation support quality outcomes and safety. The position requires RN licensure with BLS, and an Associate degree in Nursing, with a Bachelor’s preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license required; BLS certification required.
• Associate degree in Nursing required; bachelor's preferred.
• Experience in an acute care hospital setting is preferred.
• English fluency in reading, speaking and writing is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients across physical, psychological, developmental and social factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and revise as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments per orders and monitor reactions.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and self-care.
• Collaborate with medical staff to optimize patient care and maintain clear communication.
• Document care activities accurately in the medical record.
• Evaluate outcomes and adjust plans to improve health results.
• Ensure infection control, safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families.
• Supervise nursing staff and delegate care as appropriate.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and performance improvement.
• Respond to code situations promptly to stabilize patients.
