Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent, including IU Health transition-to-work program.
• Must be trained in competencies such as oxygen equipment and monitoring.
• Ability to follow oxygen transport policy and monitor tank levels.
• Frequent standing and extensive walking required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform lifts with proper technique.
• Capability to perform repetitive grasping, dexterity, and wrist movements daily.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients between service areas within the facility.
• Move patients via bed, stretcher, or wheelchair as needed.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition during transport.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to coordinate transfers.
• Adhere to safety and infection control policies.
• Ensure timely patient transport to minimize care delays.
