Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Safety Observer at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. This full-time, 0.9 FTE (36 hours per week) role requires night hours from 6:30pm to 7:00am, with direct supervision by the department manager or charge nurse.

You will observe patients, provide compassionate care, and ensure a safe environment. The position emphasizes patient safety, accurate records, and adherence to privacy guidelines, with a focus on remaining with patients during tests and procedures

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and communicate with patients and others.
• Basic arithmetic and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Observe and monitor patient condition under supervision.
• Ensure patient safety and constant visibility by caregiver.
• Accompany patients during testing/procedures as needed.
• Identify signs of anxiety or deterioration and relay to nurse immediately.
• Maintain accurate legible records as directed.
• Educate patient and family about unit expectations and safety.
