Job summary

Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center in Rome, GA is seeking a Patient Safety Attendant to support nursing by providing continuous patient observation and maintaining a safe environment under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. You will monitor patient status, respond promptly to safety concerns, and communicate clearly with the care team to ensure high-quality observation.

This is a full-time position offering 36 hours per week with a night shift from 6 PM to 6 AM and every third weekend.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• CPI certification required prior to patient observation.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment and remain with patient at all times under RN supervision.
• Document information required during patient observation.
• Perform handoff communication with the RN regarding pertinent patient information.
• Assist nursing staff in maintaining a ligature-free environment where applicable.
• Notify and update the licensed nurse of immediate patient safety needs.
• Foster positive and professional communication between patients and staff.
• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
