Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England, seeks a Patient Safety Attendant to provide continuous observation and support for patients, including those with behavioral health needs. You will document observations and coordinate with nursing staff to maintain a safe care setting.

This night-shift role includes verbally redirecting at-risk behavior, assisting with ADLs, protecting patient privacy, and contributing to handoffs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification preferred from AHA or Red Cross.
• Prior hospital experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous visual observation of patients.
• Verbally redirect patients from unsafe behaviors and notify nursing staff.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Document patient interactions and observations in medical records and handoff reports.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and participate in handoff communication.
• Respond quickly to changes in patient behavior or condition.
• Work with patients in isolation while maintaining proper precautions.
