Job summary

Providence Seaside Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Medical Surgical Unit on nights (.9 FTE), 7pm–7:30am, with 3 shifts per week and rotating weekends. You will support the RN with admissions, discharges, and transfers, and assist with patient monitoring and mobility.

Responsibilities include measuring vital signs, collecting specimens, performing fingerstick tests, and documenting outputs.

Qualifications

• Upon hire: National Provider BLS – American Heart Association
• Preferred: Medical Terminology course or successful completion of a hospital medical terminology test within 90 days of hire
• Preferred: 6 months of healthcare experience

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a high functioning team
• Assist RN with admissions, discharges, and transfers
• Measure and record vital signs, output, and weights
• Collect specimens and perform fingerstick capillary blood tests
• Assist with client mobility and transfers, using lifts and safe patient handling devices
• Opportunities for continuing education and professional development, including annual CNA conference
• Other duties as assigned
