Texas Health Resources seeks a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for its Medical Surgical unit at Plano. You will assist with patient care, data collection, and collaboration with nurses to deliver safe, compassionate care.

The role emphasizes teamwork in a fast-paced environment and adherence to caring protocols. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, multiple certifications or training pathways, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• CLIAFE compliance with foreign education equivalency required.
• PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT or THR-approved program required upon hire or equivalent.
• EMT certification or training equivalent required upon hire.
• Nursing student who completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program required upon hire.
• 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of certification required upon hire.
• BCLS prior to independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• CPI training maintained annually within 90 days required.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care and reports significant findings to nurse.
• Assists in admission/transfer/discharge processes.
• Delivers activities of daily living per patient/family preferences.
• Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.
• Takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk and documents accordingly.
• Enters orders into the system as applicable and maintains accurate records.
• Collaborates with nurse to tailor care to patient population and beliefs.
