Qualifications

• Current BLS certification or completion within 90 days.
• Successful completion of a recognized nursing assistant course or nursing program with skills lab/clinical rotation or CNA training enrollment within 45 days and completion within 90 days of hire.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Performs personal patient care tasks such as mouth care, beds, baths, perineal care, hair care, shaving, back rubs and emptying bedpans/urinals.
• Assists with patient safety: identification bands, fall protocols, restraints, positioning, rest/sleep, incident reporting.
• Performs treatments such as catheter care, enema administration, sitz baths, compresses, and assisting with ambulation.
• May retrieve and transport medications.
