Job summary

Sentara Health in Hampton, VA, seeks a Patient Care Technician for the Emergency Department to provide direct patient care under nurse supervision. The role includes supporting admissions and discharges, observing patient conditions, and ensuring safety practices.

Candidates should have a HS diploma, and ideally CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent clinical program completion, with AHA BLS within 90 days of hire. This is a full-time night shift in a busy ED with weekend rotations.

Qualifications

• HS - High School Grad or Equivalent.
• One of the following programs is acceptable: Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, US Navy Hospital Corps School, EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic, or current clinical student with RN/LPN/RT/PT experience.
• AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the supervision of a professional nurse.

• Observe patients’ conditions and report changes to the nurse.
