Job summary

Scripps Health in San Diego (Hillcrest) is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for a full-time night shift (12 hours) with a 72-hour pay period, including holidays and weekends. Located at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego, this role supports the Trauma Observation team in delivering high-quality patient care.

You will assist patients with daily living, collect data, and maintain a safe environment, while supporting clinicians and unit logistics, clerical tasks, and equipment needs.

Qualifications

• CNA certification required.
• One year of recent experience under a licensed healthcare provider.
• Current enrollment or completion of Nursing Assistant training from a recognized school.
• Current enrollment in an RN program with second semester completion including nursing fundamentals.
• Must be able to read, speak and follow instructions in English.
• Current American Heart Association BLS for health care provider.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal needs and activities of daily living while collecting data.
• Provide patient care under the direction of a clinician and maintain a safe, organized environment.
• Support unit logistics, clerical tasks, equipment/supply handling and charge reconciliation.
