Job summary

IHA in Muskegon is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to deliver compassionate, person-centered care under RN direction during a 12-hour night shift.

This full-time role focuses on assisting with daily living activities, hygiene, and mobility while maintaining a safe, clean patient environment and supporting timely procedures. Training and integration with the care team are provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• CNA or 6 months of experience direct Patient Care Assistant or Nurse Tech, or completion of at least 1 clinical rotation in Nursing School, or enrollment in Trinity Health Muskegon PCA program.
• Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral.
• Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing divers perspectives.
• Articulates and demonstrates commitment to the philosophy, values, mission and vision of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient call lights for assistance or by rounding.
• Provide or assist patients with personal hygiene including showers, oral hygiene and dressing/undressing.
• Transports patients as needed for procedures, transfers or discharge.
• Maintains a clean and uncluttered environment in patient rooms.
