Job summary

Emerus Holdings, Inc. seeks a Patient Access Specialist for our Willow Park facility. The role supports hospital registration and front office operations, ensuring accurate demographics and insurance verification.

You will interact with patients, payers and medical staff, maintain records and assist with revenue cycle processes while upholding EMTALA, HIPAA, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of patient registration and insurance verification in healthcare preferred.
• Emergency Department registration experience preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance plans (HMO, PPO, POS, Medicare, Medicaid).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Fluency in English; bilingual English/Spanish required in El Paso market.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify demographic information to support revenue cycle.
• Verify insurance benefits and payers; obtain authorizations when needed.
• Provide courteous customer service and assist with patient flow at front desk.
• Maintain medical records and perform record requests from patients and hospitals.
• Assist with transfers and coordinate care as required.
• Maintain cash drawer and log patient admissions and payments.
