Job summary

Sherwin-Williams Co. is seeking a manufacturing associate to set up, run, and maintain equipment for paint and coating production in a Charlotte facility.

You will mix and grind liquids and materials, ensuring adherence to customer requirements while maintaining a safe, clean, and productive work environment. Responsibilities include operating control systems, batch processing, quality monitoring, and collaboration with other departments to meet production timelines.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Preferred: at least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility.
• Preferred: 1 year monitoring gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure proper operation.
• Preferred: 1 year operating machinery in a manufacturing/distribution environment.
• Preferred: 1 year monitoring the quality of raw materials and/or finished goods.
• Preferred: 1 year using material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc.).
• Preferred: 1 year mixing or blending raw materials in an industrial batch process.

Responsibilities

• Operate paint‑making control systems and manufacturing equipment (HSDs, pumps, valves, etc.) safely and efficiently.
• Prebatch and inspect tickets.
• Operate drop stations and meters (water, TiO2, slurry).
• Follow batch slip instructions and monitor batch for proper grind or mix.
• Measure tanks for yield.
• Monitor raw materials and finished goods for quality.
• Comply with policies and SOPs.
• Keep logs, perform minor repairs, report breakdowns promptly.
• Maintain production records and reporting as required.
• Collaborate with other departments to complete orders on time.
• Monitor and replenish inventory of parts and supplies.
• Provide technical support and training to team members.
• Contribute ideas to improve procedures.
• Keep tools and workspace clean and organized daily.
