Job summary

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Packer for our Goodyear, AZ facility. You will inspect finished products before bagging, then box and display products while upholding food safety and cleanliness standards. Shift runs Monday–Friday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Responsibilities include weighing and dating checks, sealing verification, sanitation duties weekly, and training new packers. The job requires ability to lift up to 40 lbs and maintain an organized production area.

Qualifications

• Requires basic math and reading skills.
• Must be willing and able to stand 100% of the time
• Requires knowledge of product quality and production processes.
• Moderate lifting (40lbs)
• Able to perform Sanitation duties weekly.

Responsibilities

• Inspects packaged items and alerts Machine Operator or Shift Supervisor of any problems.
• Verifies package weight, code, dates, and price.
• Examines packages for proper seal.
• Reports any and all conditions that could lead to contaminated product.
• Packs product into cartons, cans, and specialty containers.
• Places carton, can or specialty container onto skid.
• Responsible for training new packers.
• Prepares items when "extra" (labels boxes and barrels, rework items, cleans work areas, gives breaks and lunches, picks chips in processing room).
• Performs Sanitation duties every Friday (disassembles packaging machines, clean, and reassemble).
• Uses cleaning chemicals, brooms, air guns, other tools as needed.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Maintains an organized and sanitary work environment at all times.
