Job summary

Shearer’s Foods is seeking a Packer Material Handler for the night shift from 7pm to 7am in a busy food manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include managing changeovers, ensuring correct case labels and product specs, and maintaining GMP compliance.

Ideal candidates will have basic math skills and manufacturing or warehouse experience. Duties include operating a pallet jack, keeping the area clean, and communicating shift details to the next team to ensure continuous production.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math skills
• Manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred
• Ability to follow simple instructions
• Physical: stand for extended periods, lift up to 15 pounds, use pallet jack

Responsibilities

• Identify changeovers during shift and prepare boxes.
• Order boxes from the warehouse and ensure correct labels match product specs.
• Verify expiration dates on bag and label and ensure consistency with customer specs.
• Clear basic faults on automated case packer and communicate numbers to the next shift.
• Maintain housekeeping: keep area free of foreign material and support PMO with film changes.
• Inspect bags for proper date codes and set up changeovers with required supplies.
• Skid tracking: tag and scan skids, ensure correct pallet tagging, and coordinate with PMO for changeovers.
