Job summary

Starbucks Coffee Company is hiring a manufacturing technician for a Sunday–Wednesday night shift (9pm–7:30am) to support packaging operations in our Roasting Plant. You will operate and maintain packaging lines, perform material replenishment, and handle changeovers while ensuring safety, quality, and sanitation standards.

The role requires experience with packaging equipment, basic math, and a strong ability to troubleshoot, document metrics, and work with a diverse team.

Qualifications

• Experience in production or distribution environments is required.
• Experience operating manual and automated packaging equipment.
• High School diploma or GED or 4 years of US military service.
• Basic math skills and strong reading ability.
• Ability to follow verbal directions and safety guidelines.
• Proficiency with Windows and internet environments.
• Mechanical aptitude to adjust machines and clear jams.
• Ability to perform quality checks using analytical tools.
• Ability to record and interpret operational and quality metrics.
• Understanding of safety policies, guidelines and standards.
• Ability to work in a diverse team and adapt to safety, quality and sanitation requirements.
• Flexibility to work variable shifts and handle troubleshooting tasks.
• Familiarity with food safety standards and GFSI schemes (BRC/SQF).

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain downstream secondary equipment.
• Replenish raw materials on automated packaging equipment.
• Respond to stoppages, troubleshoot, clear jams and clean.
• Perform changeovers on secondary packaging; assist with primary packaging changes.
• Quality checks on secondary packages including lot coding and aesthetics.
• Assist with quality checks on primary packages for lot coding and seal integrity.
• Track output from palletizing equipment and respond to jams.
• Operate the supersack loading station.
• Uphold safety as a core value and follow safety resolutions and PPE rules.
• Follow established safety guidelines and procedures.
• Support food safety, legality and quality programs.
• Maintain quality via GMPs, Preventive Controls, and quality procedures; document measures.
• Perform other duties to support business objectives and Starbucks values.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
