Job summary

Tate's Bake Shop in East Moriches, NY is seeking a 3rd Shift Backup Team Lead - Packaging to set up packaging for daily production, supervise packaging tasks, and maintain accurate records. The role emphasizes speed, accuracy, and neatness while coordinating with Bakers and supervisors.

You will rotate workers, perform quality checks, handle weights, and ensure compliance with FDA and SQF standards. The shift runs Sunday through Thursday, 10:30 pm to 7:00 am, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced packaging environment.
• Ability to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures.
• Willingness to rotate through packing stations and assist where needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow supervisor's direction to prepare and label bags for production and delegate to Packers.
• Ensure no foreign product/material is within packaging.
• Check scales, production schedule, labels, and packing materials for availability and setup.
• Perform Metal Detector tests and check best by dates for bags and boxes.
• Conduct weight checks to meet standards and document results.
• Rotate workers across packing stations to cover breaks and lunches.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the packaging area and document completion of tasks.
